Film Spirit

Film Najgorszy Człowiek Na Świecie

November 15, 22, 29
start 5 pm

A good film stays with us long after it ends — sometimes as a lingering image, sometimes as a question we feel compelled to discuss with others. This November, Spirit Bar invites you to Film Spirit, a series of three encounters with the cinema of Joachim Trier.

The Norwegian director explores themes of intimacy, memory, and the search for one’s place in the world. His characters change their minds, revisit the past, and strive to understand both themselves and those around them. Trier observes them with tenderness and keen attention, leaving space for humor, melancholy, and emotions that defy easy definition.

Our selection brings together three facets of his work: the romantic and life choices depicted in "The Worst Person in the World", the loneliness and attempted return to one’s roots in "Oslo, August 31st" and the complex web of family relationships, memories, and art in "Sentimental Value".

The series will launch with Kinga Kozaczka from Szwedzki Stół Filmowy, an expert on Nordic cinema. On November 15th, she will introduce us to Trier’s world and lead a discussion following the screening of "The Worst Person in the World".
